In the Descriptor applicability tab (section Editing the project) you may enter dependencies between the descriptors. For example you may administer that certain descriptors become invalid, if a specific state of another descriptor is seleted in the description item. When you are editing a description in the Contiuous view those invalidated descriptors are shown with a grey text color. If for such an invalidated descriptor still data are present, the conflicting data as usually highlighted by a yellow background color. With this form you can easily find all dependency violations.
Currently only the first level of dependencies is checked. Dependency rules are kind of recursive, i.e. if a certain descriptor is invalidated because of a dependency, it may invalidate other descriptors. This tool currently does not process this type of recursion.
After selecting the Project and the
Applicability rule click on Check for violations
and all found description items
are listed in the table (see image above). By selecting an entry and clicking the
button Inspect dataset
you may view that dataset in a
separate window.
You may select or deselect all entries of the result list
by clicking the buttons
Select all rsp.
Select none. To save the selected table entries in a tab-separated
text file click on the Export data
button. Click Close form and
check list in database
to return to the main
program with the affected descriptions.
